Guinness Smooth is now available in Guyana after being recently launched by Banks DIH Ltd. According to Banks DIH’s Brew Master, Mr. Matthew Kendall, Guinness Smooth is a bittersweet mix of hops, malt & roasted barley which gives it a rich chocolate and coffee flavour. It is brewed with a robust yeast and one third of the bitterness of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout. “The fermentation profile of Guinness Smooth differs from Guinness Stout as it undergoes an early cessation to enhance its full-bodied nature and provide a delicate sweetness which is even compounded by the rich creamy mouth-feel that comes from the presence of the diacetyl that is as a result of this halted fermentation,” Kendall said.
In Guyana, Guinness Smooth is being brewed under the watchful eyes of a Third-Party Operations (TPO) officer who ensures that there is strict adherence to the numerous operational and quality standards as outlined in the brand technical manual. According to Kendall, “This adherence to strict quality control measures fits well within Banks DIH’s brewery mandate to ensure that we have products of the highest quality.”
