The Waterfalls Magazine – The Aloe Vera plant has been known and used for centuries for its health, beauty, medicinal and skin care properties. It contains 75 potentially active constituents including: Vitamins, Enzymes, Minerals, Sugars, Lignin, Saponins, Salicylic acids and Amino Acids. It contains Vitamin A (beta carotene), C and E, which are antioxidants. It also contains Vitamin B 12, folic acid and choline.
You may have used Aloe Vera to soothe sunburns, but did you know that it has benefits for your hair? Due to its excellent properties Aloe Vera can strengthen, thicken and assist with faster growth of hair follicles.
There’ve been a number of scientific studies that have shown the significant benefits of Aloe Vera on hair.
Aloe Vera strengthens hair, due to the many active ingredients and minerals it contains that can help to naturally strengthen your hair. It has fatty acids and amino acids and is rich in Vitamins A, B12, C, and E. Aloe Vera can play an essential part in maintaining healthy hair follicles. It has been used to improve hair health and lessen breakage, and can also control greasy hair. Aloe Vera has enzymes that break down fats and strips your hair of any extra oil (sebum).
Aloe Vera also works at improving scalp health and work to treat itchy scalps. Researchers have found that Aloe Vera can significantly decrease the scaliness and itchiness on the scalp.
Here are some tips on how to use Aloe Vera for your hair:
Hair and scalp treatment:
You can directly apply Aloe Vera gel to your hair and scalp. Work it with your hands into your scalp, hair, and ends. To help seal the moisture, apply a few drops of castor oil and massage in. Leave the Aloe Vera in for about 30 minutes, and then rinse off.
Greasy Hair:
Mix 1 to 2 tablespoons of Aloe Vera gel with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 cup of water. After shampooing, rinse with this solution, leave for a few minutes, and then rinse again.
Thickening of Hair:
If you want u can blend the Aloe Vera gel or just mix with hand. First massage it into scalp, hair and ends. Let it set for 20 – 30 Minutes, then rinse out, you can do this method two times a week.
You can also make Aloe Vera Oil
First step– Extract gel
Second Step – Place in blender with any hair oil of your choice, about 1 cup, depending on how much Aloe Vera gel you use
Third Step– After blending, proceed to but the mixture in a pan and let it boil for 5 – 7 minutes
Fourth Step– After the said time you’ll see some residue and the oil, strain it let it cool.
