Dem Boys Seh…
Kaieteur News – Dem boys chucking it rude today! De government keep claiming how it gan be having zero-tolerance for squatting. It has been saying this fuh a long time now. But instead of taking action to prevent squatting and to enforce the so-called zero-tolerance edict, de government does end up rewarding de wah breaking de law and trespassing on state lands.
Dem wah breaking de law and de rules does get reward, while de law-abiding citizens wah applying fuh house lot and land does gat to be put on de awaiting line, so dat de squatters can be attended to. This is how Topsy-turvy de situation become.
While de squatters getting full attention, de law-abiding citizens queue up like cattle at the slaughterhouse, clutching their neatly filled application forms. Some people asking what is the purpose of following the process when those who break de law, jumping de queue.
It leff law-abiding citizens to question why dem should build a house on purchased land like a responsible citizen when you can simply erect your castle on state lands and grounds, and have the state regularize your unlawful occupancy.
De government might soon start fuh introduce a new award: “Squatter of de Month”. Dem might soon be asked to give duty-free concession to squatters and to subsidize de lots wah dem allotting to de squatters. As for the government’s grandiloquent promises of zero-tolerance, well, these are but empty words.
Talk Half! Leff Half!
