Kaieteur Sports – The 2023 Ontario Round-Arm Softball Cricket Association (ORSCA)/Imran Alli Real Estate 15-overs knockout competition reaches its semi-final and final stages.
On Saturday in the semis, at Hanover Public School ground, Brampton, defending champions Masters will tackle Enterprise from 09:00am.
And at the same venue and also from the same time, Sunshine will compete with Brampton Gladiators.
Then the next day, the two winners will clash in the Grand Finale from 09:00am as well but at a different venue, the Dixee-407 Park, Brampton.
According to Canada-based Guyanese and President of the ORSCA, Mitch Bacchus, everything is set for this big weekend and definitely softball enthusiasts both in Canada and Guyana are in for a treat.
“We [are] anticipating exciting cricket both on Saturday and Sunday; everything is in place and these softball players will be out there to put up some thrilling performances,” Bacchus stated.
He also took the opportunity to thank Realtor Imran Alli for coming on board again for the second year in succession. Alli is also a Canada-based Guyanese and a veteran softball player.
Some famous softball players will be representing their respective teams and among them is former Guyana first-class captain Damodar Daesrath who is a key player for Brampton Gladiators.
Other high-profile players including: Riaz Kadir, Anil Etwaroo, Azib Alli Hanif, ex-Guyana wicketkeeper/batsman, Ricardo Peters, Imtiaz Ally, Jeetendra Beharry, Mark Nazir, Royston Crandon, a former Guyana and West Indies cricketer, Chien Gittens and Zaheer Allard.
