Kaieteur Sports – Sublime bowling from Guyana helped set up a crushing 5-wicket win over Trinidad and Tobago on Day 3 of the CWI Rising Stars U19 3-Day tournament.
The Trinidadians posted 95-6 in the 1st innings. Guyanese all-rounder Joshua Rampersaud spun webs around the opposition to give Guyana a 50-plus run lead heading into the final day, grabbing 5 wickets.
Jeremy Sandia then picked up 5-42 in the 2nd innings for Guyana, keeping Trinidad to 155 all out despite Kyle Ramdoo hitting 52 for the Twin Island Republic side.
Guyana then retaliated with 179 for 6 batting in their 1st innings after Shamar Yearwood led the way with a composed half-century. The Trinis then faced with a task keeping Guyana out the game, as Yearwood stroked 40 off 32 with 3 fours and 2 sixes.
Opener Rampertab Ramnauth had 15 but it was all it took to see Guyana home with ease, gaining more momentum going forward in the competition.
