CWI Rising Stars U19 Men’s 3-Day tournament…
Kaieteur Sports – A magical 5-wicket haul from Joshua Rampersaud coupled with Shamar Yearwood’s half-century gave Guyana a slight lead over Trinidad and Tobago with time winding down on in their battle.
Day 2 witnessed Rampersaud ripping through the Trini middle-order to help Guyana regain some control of the match, keeping their opponents to 95-6 in 37 overs.
Joshua Charles grabbed 1-13 but it was the In-form Guyanese all-rounder Rampersaud who starred with the ball, grabbing 5-16 as he continued his brilliant bowling patch, adding yet another 5-Fer to his tally.
Guyana conunterpunched with some good knocks including 38 from their captain Mavindra Dindyal and a solid half-century from Yearwood which stabilized the middle-order.
When Yearwood departed, Guyana were already in the driver’s seat with the score 152-4 in 47 overs at stumps and their lead 57 runs with Zeynul Ramsammy (16*) and Rovaldo Phillips (5*) resuming their innings today.
