Kaieteur News – Dengue is a serious man. When it hold on pun yuh, yuh does get fever like de heat from a volcano. And yuh bones does ache like if dem being wrenched from yuh body.
Well, it look like if we gat a dengue spike in Guyana. De number of cases increasing like how de wildfires spreading in Greece. And is time fuh we fuh tek this thing seriously and tek it in hand. We gat to avoid dem sneaky mosquito, especially in de daytime.
Back in de day, we had dem public health officers wah does go house to house and spray yuh yard and lokk fuh dem empty containers and stagnant pools of water which are breeding grounds from dem mosquitoes. But dem sanitary inspectors with dem spray cans disappear off de scene.
Well, it’s high time we bring back dem house-to-house warriors! We need ’em now more than ever. We can’t sit back and watch dis dengue ting spread.
So, let we get rid of all dem stagnant drains, empty cans around we yard. Leh we stock up on de mosquito repellent and sleep under mosquito net.
We can’t fight dis battle alone, so let’s bring back di spraying and inspections like how we bring back an old-time ting. Together, we’ll chase dem mosquitoes away, and we’ll make sure dis dengue outbreak don’t run rampage no more. Is time fuh we fuh show dem mosquito who is de boss! And in de process defeat de dengue threat.
