Kaieteur Sports – In a commendable display of corporate social responsibility, DeSinco Limited, through their popular Unilever products, including Degree, has stepped forward to provide an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for two budding tennis stars. Ricky Romascindo and Elwyn Levius, both members of the Sheltez Tennis Club, are set to embark on an overseas journey to showcase their skills and gain invaluable international exposure in prestigious junior tennis tournaments.
The announcement came in the form of a heartening release on Thursday when DeSinco Limited confirmed its commitment to supporting the dreams of young athletes. Responding to a request for sponsorship assistance from the Sheltez Tennis Club (STC), DeSinco Limited’s noble gesture of, covering the cost of travel for Ricky Romascindo and Elwyn Levius to participate in the upcoming International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior tournaments provides a major boast to the budding talents.

Ricky Romascindo, at just 16 years old, has already made waves in the local tennis circuit, impressing spectators and coaches alike. However, he will be representing his country at the ITF J30 Under-18 Junior tournament in St. Vincent, scheduled from August 7-12. Following this, he will continue his pursuit of excellence by competing in the ITF J60 tournament in Trinidad and Tobago, from August 21-26.
Equally promising is, 13-year-old Elwyn Levius, a rising star with immense potential. The company’s sponsorship will also enable Levius to take part in the Sagicor Junior Under-14 tournament, held in St. Lucia from July 31st to August 5th. As one of the youngest participants in the event, Levius will have the opportunity to learn from experienced players and gain valuable insights that will undoubtedly shape his future in the sport.
