Kaieteur Sports – Former Guyana under-15 left-arm orthodox spinner Gaurav Ramesh grabbed five wickets for 13 runs to lead Schenectady Jaguars to a handsome 85-run win over Upstate Eleven last Saturday when action continued in the 2023 Capital District Cricket Association T20 competition continued.
Playing at New York Oval, Ramesh delivered three overs to help his team keep Upstate Eleven stranded at 64-8 when the 20-overs ran out.
Schenectady Jaguars had earlier won the toss and tallied up a formidable 149-8 from the allotment of 20-overs.
Only opener Shahzad Ghazi offered a token of resistance for the losing combination with 22.
For Schenectady Jaguars, Renny Jainabi top-scored with 49 which included four fours and a six from 49 balls while he got contributions from Captain Kumar Joseph and Terrence Madramotto with 25 and 21 respectively.
Seamer Naveed Ahmed Nooristani snatched 4-31 from his maximum four overs to be Upstate Eleven leading bowler on a responsive pitch.
His skipper and quickie Nisarullah Ghazi took 3-39 from four expensive overs to be in the wicket-column.
The 11-team round-robin competition is slated to continue this Saturday with a series of matches.
Schenectady Jaguars will clash with Albany Highlanders Cricket Club at Grout Park facility while Upstate Eleven and Jet Albany will do battle at New York Oval.
