Kaieteur Sports – A trifecta of half-centuries from the Barbados middle-order gave them a 300 run lead over Guyana when day 1 of the CWI Rising Stars 3-Day tournament bowled off.
Guyana will enter day 2 today with a tall task of erasing a 300 run deficit after Barbados gained the upper hand thanks to some tremendous batting.
At stumps Guyana were 2-0 with Shahid Veira (02*) and Aryan Persaud (0*) resuming the tall task today.
Barbados earlier piled on 302-9 in 86 overs after Joshua Dorne (86), Jayden Bollers (50) and Joshua Morris (59) did the damage.
Achilles Brown hit 46 as fast-bowler Isai Thorne grabbed 3 for 77 while Jeremy Sandia and Joshua Rampersaud had 2 wickets each.
