Kaieteur News – The Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Two on Wednesday signed two contracts totalling $65,896,102 for the upgrading of two deplorable roads located in Danielstown and Lima, Essequibo Coast.
Signing the contracts in the company of other regional officials was the Regional Executive Officer (REO) Ms. Susanah Saywack.
On the ground at Lima, the REO inked a $41,250,400 contract with Builder’s Hardware General Supplies and Construction for the upgrading of Sandy Network Eastern roadway.
Kaieteur News understands that this project is expected to be completed within four months and will see approximately 140 meters of the road being upgraded to Asphaltic Concrete accompanied by speed bumps. The roadway will also be outfitted with lights.
Meanwhile in Danielstown, the REO signed a $24,645,720 contract with Innovus Engineering and Supplies for the upgrading of Bus Shed Street, Danielstown.
This project which was awarded to Innovus Engineering & Supplies by the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board is expected to be completed in three (3) months.
The newly upgraded road will measure 405 meters and will be done in Asphaltic Concrete accompanied by speed bumps. In addition, a 40-meter revetment will be included from the front of the street, and the new street will also be complemented by street lights from the front all the way to the end.
