Kaieteur News – Following the national bidding process, the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) has awarded a $20 million contract for the rewiring of the Suddie Magistrate’s Court in Region Two.
It was reported that the project, which is being executed through the Supreme Court of Judicature, was estimated to cost $24,453,694.
On its website, NPTAB stated that the project was awarded to N. Balgobin & Sons Contracting Service & Electrical Supplies, to the tune of $20,648,760. This contractor was among eight firms that had applied for the works.
A similar project is scheduled for the Fort Wellington Magistrates’ Court in Region Five. These works are estimated to cost $20 million.
The justice sector was allocated some $6.2 billion this year from the national budget for the strengthening of the justice system.
