Kaieteur Sports – The recently held Stage of Champions event at the Ramada Princess Hotel in Providence showcased the remarkable achievements of Guyanese athletes in the bodybuilding arena. Among the standout performances was the incredible display by Darious Ramsammy, the reigning Mr. Guyana and crowd favourite; reigning Mr. Physique champion Emmerson Campbell. Notably, the outstanding achievements of these Guyanese athletes highlighted their dominance and skill in the bodybuilding arena. They have proven themselves as formidable competitors among some of the best in the Caribbean.
Meanwhile, in the triple-weight class of the Mr. Bodybuilding category, Ramsammy’s domination in the Under-176 LBS weight class secured him the coveted Mr. Bodybuilding title. Ramsammy’s exceptional skills and overall scores allowed him to clinch the title, Surinamese, Anthony Nekrey impressed the crowd to secure the second place, as Lewis Samganaseed from Barbados took the third-place.
In the Under-164 LBS Bodybuilding weight class, Guyana’s Selwyn Grogan came the second to Barbados’ Lewis Samganaseed who pocketed the first-place honour in the respective weigh class, while Joel Caldeira also out of Guyana secured third. In the Over-177 LBS weight class, witnessed impressive performances by local boys Julio Sinclair and Nickolas Albert, who secured the second and third positions respectively. As Surinamese Bodybuilder, Anthony Nekrey emerged victorious, claiming the first-place.
Across in the Mr. Physique leg, Emmerson Campbell, CAC games silver-medalist and the reigning Mr. Physique champion, put on an excellent performance and reclaimed the coveted title. Campbell proved his prowess, competing against talented athletes like Surinamese Rafeal Komokarge, who secured an overall second-place in the division, and Odel Cato from Grenada, who took the third-place spot. Richard Jacob and Guyanese athlete Romelton Siland secured the fourth and fifth positions respectively.
Surinamese Chavelle Meyer was later crowned Miss Bikini champion, in the highly anticipated Miss Bikini category. Despite the solid performances by local bodybuilders reigning Novice Miss Bikini queen, Melitha Anderson and Christiana Ramsammy, who secured the second and third positions respectively.
The event was sponsored by New GPC Inc, Western Scientific, Guyana Outdoor Sports, Camille Academy, West Indies Sports Complex, Twins Manufacturing, Space Gym and Fitness Express, Unity Cabs and Unity Gym.
