Digicel Schools Football Championships 2023…
Kaieteur Sports – When the action in the eighth edition of the Digicel’s Schools Football Championships continued on Saturday, Kato and Soesdyke were crowned Regional Champions of East Bank (Region 4) and Region Eight.
Kato faced Paramakatoi in the finale and emerged victorious, 2 – 0. These two sides were the only teams in the competition, but, only the Champion will move on to the National Championships.
The final which took place in Madhia saw Young Robinson score once in both halves to propel his team to victory.
Soesdyke were the next team to find Championship glory squeezed past Friendship on penalty kicks in the Region 4 – East Bank finale at the Ministry of Education Ground.
There were five other Georgetown zone matches yesterday at the MoE and National Insurance Scheme (NIS) Grounds.
Up to press time, the results which were available saw Dolphin sank Queen’s College 5 – 0,, West Ruimveldt defeated Brickdam 3 – 0 and Charlestown needled Richard Ishmael (1 – 0). The other two matches were St Rose’s versus Carmel and Marian Academy versus St Winifred’s.
