Kaieteur Sports – Son of former Guyana’s first-class wicketkeeper/batsman, Azib Alli Hanif, is making headlines with his last three consecutive innings in the 2023 Toronto and District Cricket Association Under-19, T20 tournament.
The 14-year-old right-handed, Fayyaz Alli Hanif, representing Superstars A team struck 51 not out, 46 not out and an unbeaten 50.
Fayyaz has opened batting and on all three occasions as he delightfully helped his team emerge victorious.
His 51 against QCA saw his team gallop to a nine-wicket triumph and also shared an attractive 72-run stand with Muadh Shariff (14*).
Again he was engaged in a steady 80-run, unbroken second-wicket partnership with Jatan Mehta, who contributed 35 to fire their team to another comprehensive nine-wicket victory against Ontario Titans.
In the other encounter against Mississauga Ramblers, Fayyaz spurred Superstars to a comfortable eight-wicket win as well.
Even though he started off the year with a few low scores, Fayyaz not only displayed his tremendous talent now but his consistency is admirable.
Meanwhile, the competition will continue this Sunday with Superstars Under-16 A back in action on July 16th as they are set to clash with Actionzone/Centurions Under-16 at Thackery Park ground in Etobicoke, Ontario.
