Dear Editor,
The news item by an online site about the election of the Lethem council (INews July 6), which was won unopposed by the incumbent, it was observed in the photograph of the new council, a framed official portrait of the former minister, with responsibility for Local Government and Regional Development, was quite visible.
This should not have been as the person no longer holds any position in government. The portrait must be removed from all government buildings and agencies particularly those under the Local Government Ministry. As a new council, start by getting it right.
Yours faithfully,
Shamshun Mohamed
