Kaieteur Sports – An Action pack day of racing is anticipated when the Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) CARICOM Day horse race meet get on the way tomorrow Monday 3rd July at the club’s track Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne Berbice.
With preparations complete and close to 60 of Guyana’s top horses entered, thousands are expected to be in attendance for what is expected to be a pulsating day of racing.
The six race card has over $4M in cash trophies and other incentives on offer. Horse owners and punters are taking no chances with owners’ fine tuning their charges for the big day.
The feature event for animals’ classified G3 non winners and lower over 7furlongs has the top animals in that category penciled to go.
A virtual who is who with the likes of American Traveler, Nuclear Fire Memories, Amerceable Kate, Republican and Pocoyo all looking in tip top shape at work outs. Bragging rights is also at stake in addition to the sumptuous $500,000 and trophy at stake for the winner.
All the other event has full gates and reports are that animals have already arrived at the venue in preparation for the contest.
The other races are J1 and lower over 6 furlongs; the three years old event for maiden horses also over 6 furlongs; a race for Guyana Bred two years old horses over 5 furlongs. the L class Open race and the matchup for J and L none earners over 6 furlongs.
Outstanding performers will receive accolades compliments of Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall and the organisers.
The day’s event will be conducted using the rules of the Kennard Memorial Turf Club
Bugle time is 13:00 hrs.
Honorary President and Matriarch of the KMTC Mrs. Chan Kennard and the Board of Directors will like to inform owners that barring any unforeseen circumstances all prize money will be paid before the end of the day’s proceedings.
