Kaieteur News – Twenty-seven-year-old Sheldon Solomon of Lot 36 Old Kara Kara, Mackenzie, Linden was on Thursday morning killed in a vehicular accident along the Kara Kara Public Road.
According to the police, the fatal accident occurred just around 08:00hrs and involved Solomon who was riding his motorcycle and motorcar PZZ 8967 which was driven by 24-year-old Judah Lorrimer of Lot 184 Carter Street, Kara Kara.
It was reported to the police that the motorcyclist was heading east along the northern side of the public road, reportedly at a fast rate while the motorcar was heading south on Thomas Street (an access road). The police learned that the car then turned west onto the main road into the path of the motorcycle causing a collision. As a result of the collision, the driver of the motorcycle fell onto the roadway where he sustained serious injuries about his body.
He was picked up in a conscious condition and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was treated and transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital for further treatment. However, on his way to Georgetown, he succumbed to his injuries.
According to the police, the driver of the motorcar is in custody, a breathalyzer test was done but no alcohol was found in his system.
Investigations are continuing.
