Kaieteur Sports – Old rivals Saints Stanislaus College and the Bishops High School will contest the Georgetown Regional Championship today at the Burnham Court venue.
The City Final is set to commence at 5 pm and promises to be a keenly contested affair.
The Regional Conference is sponsored by ExxonMobil, with support from Edward B. Beharry, G-Boats GY, and the National Sports Commission.
Meanwhile, in the semifinal contests, Saints overpowered a spirited St Rose’s High 46 points to 28 points to stay undefeated.
Playing on Sunday last at Saints Court, Brandon McKoy 29 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals and Lemuel Heyliger 7 points, 5 rebounds piloted Saints, while top performer for St Rose’s was Chad Martin 16 points and 4 rebounds.
The second semi-final saw Bishops High holding off the Government Technical Institute 31 points to 27 points on two clutch free throw from their captain Matthias Arrindel in the dying minutes of the game.
Arrindel led his team with 17 points, 6 rebounds and got support from Daniel Bailey 9 points, 9 rebounds, while for GTI, Martin Edwards 7 points, 10 rebounds and Peter Langevine 7 points, 7 rebounds were the main contributors.
