Kaieteur News – Two bandits on Monday rode to rob a rum shop at Enterprise, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on a bicycle and left with the owner’s motorcycle.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has confirmed that they are investigating the robbery. The owner reportedly claimed that the bandits armed with a hand gun robbed him of $200,000.
Security cameras captured the bandits-one of them masked- pulling up in front of the shop on a bicycle. They dismounted the bike and walked into the shop brandishing a handgun. The one armed with the gun walked up to counter and stuck-up the owner while the other ran through the pockets of patrons who were apparently instructed to lie on the ground.
The attendant was then seen filling the bandits’ haversack with money while a gun was pointed at him. After securing their loot, one of the bandits grabbed something that looked like a key. They then proceeded outside and fled on the shop owner’s motorcycle.
