Kaieteur Sports – Rockaway Group of Companies has thrown its support behind a double-wicket cricket competition which is set for July 4 at Idlewild Cricket Ground in New York.
The competition will be held in conjunction with QUSC’s annual BBQ Fundraising Event committee.
The committee is comprised of Hafeez Ali, Ralph Tamesh, Charlton Senior, Zamin Amin, Danny Khan, Deryck Kallicharran, and John Aaron.
Teams from the following leagues will compete based on the top-seed 2022 places. Metropolitan Cricket League, New York National Cricket League, American Cricket League, Bangladesh Cricket League, Commonwealth Cricket League, Queens United Sports Club. Matches start at 10:00hrs and the registration fee is $100. per player. The winning team will pocket $2,000 and the Runner-up $1000.
The competition will be four (4) overs per team. The organizing committee will select a pool of thirteen (13) rotating fielders and provide uniforms and each fielder will receive $100 for the day with the following incentives.
$25 for each catch made by a fielder or the wicket-keeper or a stumping made by the wicket-keeper. $30 for each direct-hit run-out and $15 per person for a relay run-out.
The organizing committee will select umpires and there will also be a live commentary.
