…to be used for presidential trips
Kaieteur News – The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) on Saturday received a Beechcraft that the government had sent to the United States of America (USA) to be fully refurbished.
Law enforcement officers had seized the Brazilian aircraft in August 18, 2017 after it was found at an illegal airstrip at North Rupununi, Region Nine.
According to GDF, the Super KingAir 350, twin engine aircraft was ferried off to the USA in 2021 to be refurbished into an executive plane for presidential trips.
“A Guyana Defence Force Executive aircraft, a Super KingAir 350, arrived at the Eugene F Correia International Airport at approximately 1730 hours today,”GDF stated.
The refurbished plane is scheduled to be commissioned early July.
