Kaieteur News – Red Thread Women’s Organisation on Friday staged a protest in front of the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Shalimar Ali Hack, SC. demanding justice for a the school girl allegedly raped and sodomised by Local Government Minister Nigel Dharamlall.
Calling for a fair and impartial determination for the alleged victim, some protestors held placards saying “Protect our Children”, “Protect our People”, “Protect Our Women”, and “Justice Must be Served!”
Meanwhile, the Guyanese community living in New York also staged a protest in front of the Guyana Consulate located there calling for Dharamlall to be fired and demanding justice.
The protest was led by Bonita Montaque, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a non-governmental organisation called United Bridge Builder’s Mission (UBBM).
Representatives of the UBBM also chanted, “Dharamlall must go!” and threatened to write the United States Congress on the matter.
