House collapses with woman, two children inside
Kaieteur News – The home of a single mother of four from Smythfield, New Amsterdam, Berbice collapsed on Thursday while she and the two of her four children were inside.
The woman, 29-year-old Tiffany Waldron is seeking the public’s assistance is rebuilding her home. Waldron, who is a government 10-day worker, told Kaieteur News that she had just gotten up from her bed and within a matter of seconds, she heard a loud cracking sound. Before the mother of four knew it, her house collapsed and was left in a slanted position.
“After I hear the cracking, all I know is that the house just collapse and I pitch in me kitchen and my 2-year-old pitch too…,” she said; while the other one was in some other part of the house and received minor injuries.

Waldron disclosed that her other two children were in the yard. She noted that if they were under the house, she could not imagine what would have happened to her children ages 12 and 11.
The woman told Kaieteur News that she and her children are forced to sleep in the collapsed home until it can be fixed. She is hoping that persons can assist her in some way to get the house fixed.
