Kaieteur Sports – The South Turkeyen Committee, in partnership with Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell Three-a-side, small-goal Football competition concluded on Sunday at the Vryheid Lust Tarmac with a thrilling match as Chriswell Williams’ team emerged victorious with a 2-1 win against Sean Simple’s team.
Sean Liverpool was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his outstanding performance. The prestigious Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell trophy, generously donated by the Bannas Foundation, was presented to the Chriswell Williams’s team as well as substantial cash prize in recognition of their achievement.
Meanwhile, the Under-16 Four-a-side tournament is set to kick off today, June 21st, at the Vryheid Lust Play Field, commencing at 16:30 hours. The competing teams will vie for the championship trophy donated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in an eagerly anticipated final match.
Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell added to the excitement with the Father’s Day Kings and Queens Dominoes competition. Junior Chesney emerged as the winner, securing an impressive seven wins. Barnwell and Kurt Braithwaite each won two games. Competition continues on Sunday 25th June at Wills Hideout, start time 16:30 hours. Trophy for this championship graciously donated by Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell and Trevor McArthur.
