Kaieteur News – Guyana will be hosting the 32nd Annual Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association Conference and Exhibition (CWWA) from October 23-27, 2023.
Under the theme, “Accelerating Change in the Water, Wastewater, and Solid Waste Sectors” the conference will see over 300 delegates, including exhibitors, technical paper presenters and dignitaries from across the Caribbean Region and locally attending.
The Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) on Tuesday in a press statement announced that Guyana is the host country for the conference. According to the statement a delegation from the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) `met with Minister of Housing and Water ,Colin Croal and Permanent Secretary, Andre Ally on Monday to provide an update on the planning for the conference’s activities.
The delegation included: CWWA President, Lt. Col. Marlon Daniels; CWWA Public Relations Officer, Angela Franklin; CWWA, 2023 Local Organizations Committee (LOC) chair, Amanda Ramgobin; and the premier organization within the region bringing together professionals, suppliers, service providers, and dignitaries from the water and waste sectors. A brief overview of the conference and what would be expected within the conference was highlighted by CWWA President, Marlon Daniels.
In addition to that Daniels updated the Minister and the Permanent Secretary of the current status of conference planning.
The Local Organizing Committee aims to attract 100 exhibitors, showcase 8 technical papers, and host 40 Ministers and/or representatives and advisors responsible for the water and waste water sectors in the region.
Daniel said, “This is an excellent opportunity for our local businesses and practitioners in water and waste sectors to network and learn from the experiences of others in the region and internationally.”
