Kaieteur Sports – The annual Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) Caricom Day horse race will speed off on July 3rd at the Bush Lot Turf Club, with over GYD $4M in cash, trophies and prizes to be won.
The feature event will be for horses classed F & Lower with the contest being over seven furlongs. With 7 huge races billed for the day’s card, fans will witness competition in the G3 Non-Earners and Lower, L Open, Two-year-old Guyana-bred, J1 and Lower, three-year-old maiden, and K & L Non-Earners (Lifetime).
The top purse of GYD$350,000 will be awarded to the winner of the 6-furlong G3 Non-Earners and Lower race with the winner of the 3 year-old maiden race taking home $GYD250,000 and a trophy.
The category, Guyana-bred two-year-old horses, a 5-furlong race, will see the potential winner earning GYD$250,000 and a trophy, while the 6-furlong race for L Class Open, fetches a purse of GYD $200,000. The top horse for the day’s race will bag the grand prize of GYD$500,000 alongside trophies.
