Kaieteur Sports – In a thrilling evening of indoor hockey, the Oceaneering U14 league witnessed some exciting matches in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions.
The CLSS Samurais, led by hat-tricks from Elizabeth Seedhan and Sarysha Phillips, clinched two impressive victories in the girls’ division, defeating Hikers Junior Jets by 3-1 and Multi by 3-0.
The GCC Challengers also put up a dominant display, led by Kadence Belony and Hannah Percival, as they recorded the largest victory margin in the girls’ division with a 6-0 win over CLSS Scouts. Belony scored four goals, while Percival scored twice, leading their team to a resounding victory.
The RISS Top Shelf Titans rounded out the girls’ matches with a 3-0 victory over Multi, as the Titans put up a solid performance, with their defence holding strong against Multi’s attacks.
In the boys’ division, YMCA Old Fort continued their unbeaten run with a convincing 8-0 win over Multi.
Leeman Mohabir was once again the top scorer for Old Fort, securing a hat-trick. Micah Smith and Richard Marques both scored doubles, while Alex Sealey completed the scoring for Old Fort with his first goal of the tournament.
The most exciting match of the evening was between the GCC Pitbulls and RISS Blade Running. The match saw RISS Blade Running surge ahead with three unanswered goals, before GCC eventually sprung to life through the skilful exploits of Egan Bulkan.
With Bulkan and Shawn King each scoring early in the second half, and the score tilted 3-1 in favour of Blade Running, Bulkan would close out the game with two more goals to draw the Pitbulls within one.
However, time would be the nemesis of the Pitbulls and Bulkan as RISS Blade Running would enjoy a 4-3 victory at full time.
