Kaieteur News – A 25-year-old rice farmer of lot 169 Well Rank Dam, No.57 Village, Corentyne, Berbice was on Sunday morning stabbed to death at Queenstown, Corriverton.
Dead is Pursoram Ganpat.
Reports are that Ganpat and the suspect, 18-year-old Kevin Somrah of 101 Queenstown, Corriverton, were imbibing at Queenstown when an argument ensued. The argument escalated into a fight and Somrah armed himself with a knife and dealt Ganpat several stabs about his body. The incident occurred at about 02:30h.
Ganpat was taken to the Port Mourant Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police have since arrested Somrah for Ganpat’s murder.
Investigations are ongoing.
