Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – Given that the Local Government Elections are around the corner, it has been noticed by many who visit Government Ministries that many staff are missing. This is affecting service delivery and contributing to frustrations at the different Ministries.
Many staff are seen leaving early because they have to work with GECOM while the majority are on time off to attend to duties associated with PPPC. Politics should not be contaminating our public service. Sadly, under the PPPC, staff have to pledge some form of alliance before they can get promoted or benefit from Government contracts. This is similar to the Burnham era where Party politics trumped good administration.Guyana is sinking daily into worst governance. The PPPC is infiltrating all sectors and those who are not aligned to it are victimized.
This is why many persons who got a job under this administration have an understanding that they got their job because of political connections and not based on their merits. The PPPC knows this and in an effort to undermine the public sector, it is stocking it with sheer Party supporters. These are then given time off to do Party work instead of doing civil servants work, of which they are paid.
Guyana needs help. Only the international community can save us from PPPC.
Regards,
Khan
