PPP/C Beach Football at Linden…
Kaieteur Sports – The battle for quarterfinal slots in the People’s Progressive Party / Civic Linden ‘One Guyana’ $1M Beach Football promotion continues with play in both the male and female categories outside their office in Mackenzie, Linden from 6.00pm tonight.
This follows another exciting night on day four on Independence Day where Swag displayed fine form in the men’s division and female sides Dynamo FC and Speightland also were equally impressive.
In the opening game on Friday night Good Fellas handed Rockstone a 2-0 loss with Kelvin Blake and Akel Plass getting the goals for Good Fellas.
Then in the first female clash Dynamo FC turned back the challenge of Milerock Scorpions, stinging them 6-0.
Both Shanice Johnson and Glendy Lewis recorded doubles, while Jalade Trim and Sandra Johnson got the other two goals for the victorious Dynamo team.
The next men’s game was between tournament favourites Swag, who showed little respect for Police with a 5-1 victory as Colwyn Drakes led the charge with all five goals to his credit. Ezekiel Prince shot home the lone goal for the security boys.
In another men’s toss-up R9’s scored a 4-3 win over Young Ballers as Omar Brewley netted thrice as Tyric McAllister got the other for the winners, while Dequan Samuels scored twice and Shemiah Samuels one for the Ballers team.
Speightland then swamped River’s View 8-0 with Lakisha Pearson getting the brace, as Sheenesa Cornelius, Nikita Wayne, Prescilla Rose, Alliyah Venture, Lavisha Cornelius and Tandi Smith getting one each.
Quiet Storm overcame Sandbox 2-0 in another men’s clash as Quacy Cadogan and Zidane Ramdehol netted for the winners.
In the final men’s match, Golden Stars B won 2-0 over Exodus as Kenroy Gills and Crandon Samuels were responsible for their goals.
Ballers Empire men then advanced after Blueberry Hill did not turn up for their clash.
Matches set for this evening are, in the men’s competition, Main Street face Amazing, YMCA tackle Minerals, Speightland take on Kara Kara United, Young Gunners challenge Elite Ballers and in the lone female game Exodus meet Nurses.
