Kaieteur Sports – The National Milling Company (NAMILCO) Thunderbolt Flour Power Under-17 Football League continued on Friday with an exciting triple header in Berbice that saw New Amsterdam United, Rosignol United FC and Paradise Invaders FC pick up victories.
In the first match, New Amsterdam (NA) United FC crushed Hopetown Ranger FC 5-0. NA United FC had a solid performance after being held to a 0-0 score line at the end of first half. They came back strongly scoring four goals to put themselves in command of the match and later scored another goal in the first minute of injury time to seal a 5-0 victory over the Hopetown Boys.
NA United FC goal scorers were Civion Arokrium in 51st and 87th, Kamasi Spellen in the 51st, Joshua Dougall in 76th and Tjon Reid scored when the clock read 90+1 minute.
The second match, Rosignol United FC won by way of forfeit against Paradice Invaders to earn a valuable three points while Cougar FC ripped through Ithacac FC in the third match as Dane Singh started the scoring for in the 28th to push the lead to 1-0. They netted their second goal in the 55th minute compliments of right footed Keron George, then pushed their lead further in the 60th minute as Jamal Adams slipped in another goal to secure a comfortable 4-0 win.
Meanwhile at Buxton Ground, Mahaica picked up a win over Ann’s Grove by way of a walk over while Dynamic FC trounced Melanie 2-0. Taric Trotman nailed the first goal for Dynamic FC, followed by Bryan Wharton’s successful penalty.
The competition continues on Saturday, May 13, at Scott School Ground, New Amsterdam.
