Dear Editor,
I am writing to provide a correction to an article published in your online edition on April 27, 2023 titled “Permanent Secretary (PS), Mae Toussaint Thomas visa revocation, ‘roughing-up’ was a “normal routine” – President Ali.”
The article erroneously stated that my son was part of the delegation that was involved in the temporary detention of PS Thomas at Miami International Airport. I want to clarify that my son was not part of the delegation, nor was he traveling to China on the mentioned date, after, or has ever traveled to China.
I appreciate the opportunity to make this correction, and I hope that you will publish this letter to ensure that your readers have accurate information.
Sincerely,
Virjanand Dépoo
Ambassador of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana to the Republic of Suriname.
