Dear Editor,
As a citizen of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana I would like to know the role of the President.
Since he took up the Presidency, I have seen him hosting numerous dinners and receptions with foreign dignitaries. He is touring all over Guyana and the world. Touring is not the problem but he fails to address the nation fully on his trips and how they would benefit the country. The President has failed to hold press conferences to enlighten the nation of what is going on.
For the past few months he failed to address the nation on the Oil Sector. As the leader he has allowed corrupt officials to lead the nation with a set of lies. I know in other countries the President leads but it seems as though his Vice President is leading and putting his position at stake come next election. I wonder how this man can call himself President and has been neglecting the nation. I see him dancing, cleaning drains, and doing other odd jobs to impress the nation that he is a down to earth person. However, I see it as a distraction so that the nation will not focus on the other major issue going on. I know that the no-confidence would not be passed but for me I have no confidence in him as a leader. He is more like a boss.
I am calling on all right thinking Guyanese to come out and hold the government accountable for the nonsense they are doing in the oil sector and the sale of the Marriott Hotel.
Sincerely,
Concerned Citizen
