Dear Editor,
This missive serves to inform the Commissioner of Police that we, Kittitian and Nevisian friends of Mr. Adam Lynch, were stunned when we read the article of Kaieteur News Columnist, Freddie Kissoon, headlined “Adam Lynch’s death: Suicide or murder?” – dated December 11, 2022.https://www.kaieteurnewsonline.com/2022/12/11/adam-lynchs-death-suicide-or-murder/
Since the publication of that article, we are unaware of any official response to the troubling questions raised by Mr. Kissoon. As we continue to mourn the passing of our dear friend, we write seeking answers to the following questions from the Police Force on this matter.
Was Adam arrested and detained for two days after he took a permit for a gun license to the Office of the Police Commissioner?
If yes, what was the offence?
What charges were laid against him, if any?
When, where and why was he detained, if, in fact, he was?
Is there any truth to the suggestion that he might have been mistreated while allegedly in custody?
Is there an ongoing investigation into the allegations pertaining to gun permit applications?
If the story about Adam being detained is untrue and there is no basis for a question about homicide, what happens next?
What advice would the Office of the Commissioner of Police offer on this matter?
Will an official statement on the article written by Mr. Kissoon be released?
Mr. Adam Lynch, a father of two young children, was a bright, committed and industrious entrepreneur who loved his native land and his family. While working in St. Kitts and Nevis, he won many friends and admirers. He had gone too soon and we mourn his passing.
Can we please get answers to our questions?
Respectfully,
Kittitian/Nevisian friends of Adam Lynch
