Kaieteur News – Today (April 9, 2023) the Lusignan Golf Club, will be host to the Romel and Robin Golf Tournament. This annual fixture is set to tee off between 8:00 am – 9:00 am. The format of play will be Medal play over 9 holes in three (3) flights and shotgun start. The three flights are: 10 and under, 11-18 handicap, 19-36 handicap.
The prizes up for grabs will be: Best Net in each Flight

In the 2022 edition of the tournament which was held in October, many top golfers came out to play as the main golfers were away at the Suriname Open. However, this year, the tournament is expected to see a mixture of fresh faces and experienced players taking the course by storm. The winners for the 2022 edition were Flight 19-36: In first place was Roberto Mohan with Gross 38, HC 10 and a Net of 78; in second was Sanjay Persaud and third, Latchman Raju. Flight 10-18: In first place was Kassim Khan with Gross 39, HC 8 and a Net of 31, while in second and third positions were Randy Dindanauth and Kevin Boodram respectively. Flight 9 and Under: In first place was Deso Ramsundar with Gross 35, HC 3 and Net of 32, while coming second and third were Mago Seecharan and Richard Haniff respectively.
All participants are advised to contact the club’s manager on the day of the tournament to collect their scorecards, pay their tournament fees and proceed to their allocated tee boxes to begin play between 8:00AM & 9:00AM. Once on their respective tee boxes, players must await the sounding of the horn or siren as indication to begin teeing off. Presentation of prizes will be held at the completion of the tournament at approximately 12:00pm.
