– Tournament kick-off set for Saturday
Kaieteur News – The Kashif and Shanghai Organisation’s One Guyana Futsal Championship decided its 32 teams that will compete in the April – May 20 event, following the conclusion of its Play-In tournament on Tuesday.
Timehri Ballers defeated Vryheid’s Lust 6 – 2 and will now play in Group F with Stabroek Ballers, Wismar All-Stars and Bagotstown.
ophia won 2 – 1 over Festival City to join Group H Bent Street, Albouystown and Avocado Ballers, while Thomas United marched into Group A alongside Sparta Boss, Future Stars and NA United, after defeating Foot Steppers 4 – 2.
Kingston booked their spot in Group G to play Leopold Street, Showstoppers and North East, since their opponents on Monday, Gold Shot, failed to show-up.
Paradise Invaders outclassed Ramsay Clan 3 – 0 and will move into Group C with Tiger Bay, McKenzie All-Stars and Pouderoyen Brothers.
Foot Steppers, despite their defeat, will play in the tournament’s Main Draw in Group B with Gold is Money, Beterverwagting (BV) and Melanie.
Back Circle, Ven-Guy, Alexander Village and Kitty are in Group D, while Group E brings together Road Warriors, Kitty Spanish, California Square and Ballers Empire.
The One Guyana Futsal tournament will carry a first-place prize of $1M, compliments of Mohamed’s Enterprise. Second-place team will pocket $500,000, while $200,000 and $100,000 will go to the teams finishing third and fourth respectively.
