Kaieteur News – Come this Saturday, the Lusignan Golf Club will be the place to be, as they prepare to host the Robert Birthday Tournament, which will be held in honour of Robert Hanoman.
The format of the tournament will be Stableford over 18 holes in Two (2) flights and shotgun start and is expected to tee off at 12:30 hrs. The two flights are: 0-16 handicap and 17-36 handicap. (Subject to Change)
The goal of the Stableford is to score the most points. Every score (net score) when compared to par is equivalent to a set number of predetermined points. The points per hole are awarded as follows:
Essentially the goal is to make as many birdies (or better) and pars to have the highest number at the end of the round. There are no negative holes, which means anything after a double bogey you can pick up and move to the next hole.
There will be prizes up for grabs in each flight from first to second, Best Overall Score, Nearest to the Flag – Hole #4 and Longest Drive – Hole #5.
A large turnout is anticipated for a full round of golf among members and newcomers. Hanoman, since he became acquainted with golf, has remained committed to the game that he has been playing for more than 20 years.
Over the years, Hanoman has made significant and outstanding contributions to the LGC. Counsel Hanoman has provided legal guidance and direction continuously, in addition to consistent and voluntary financial assistance by means of sponsorships and other areas of club development.
All participants are advised to contact the club’s manager on the day of the tournament to collect their scorecards, pay their tournament fees and proceed to their allocated tee boxes to begin play at 12:30pm. Presentation of prizes will be held at the completion of the tournament at approx. 5:30pm.
