Dear Editor,
Though the remarks were withdrawn, one wonders though on what basis, controversial remarks made at a political meeting, found its way on the floor of a recent council meeting of Region 5, before being swiftly shut down? (GT March 19).
Further the speaker having been lambasted from both sides of the aisle, sought relevance in offering belligerent remarks to the former chairman of the Region. Is this the standard how this council’s meetings are being conducted, with acrimony and belligerence? There are strands of familiarity of past encounters at council meetings for this same region.
Regards,
Shamshun Mohamed
