Dear Editor
Kaieteur News – A call to arms by Tacuma Ogunseye is a very serious proposition and given Guyana’s history must be taken as such.
The PPPC Government should have a conversation with Tacuma Ogunseye, David Hinds, et al to find out what has caused their extremism.
I understand that Ogunseye, Hinds, et al believe in a cause. That is, the African-Cause.
But calling for the overthrow of the democratically elected Government by arms is not the way forward.
So, if the democratically elected Government is overthrown, what next? Does this mean that all people not of African descent will be excluded from the affairs of Ogunseys, Hinds, et al panacea? Are they then going to use the armed forces to subjugate the majority of the population of Guyana?
It would seem as if Ogunseye, Hinds, et al have become confused in what they are fighting for. They may have started out fighting for democracy and equality, but they have become consumed and are now fighting for the opposite. This is what happens when you have limited access to wider support structures….that is friends and families who can guide your decisions.
To its credit the armed forces have been professional in categorically stating that they are not a kith n’ kin operation; kudos to their professionalism.
Sincerely
Sean Ori
