Kaieteur News – Hardworking, determined and motivated are three words which best describe 25-year-old businesswoman and model, Hadiyah Clarke.
It was her love for business and self-discipline that ushered in two successful businesses, making Hadiyah the proprietor of ‘Pragz22’ and ‘Pragz Cater Too’.
Hadiyah recently graduated from the University of Guyana (UG) with a degree in Business Management.
During an interview with The Waterfalls, she said, “I enjoy managing my businesses, planning, organizing, modeling, fashion, music and entertainment in general.”
The young businesswoman added, “My goal is to one day cater to restaurants, hotels and to employ Guyanese men and women while continuously perfecting the art of creating appealing food.”
To mark the second anniversary of the opening of her first business, ‘Pragz22’, Hadiyah will be hosting an anniversary celebration ‘Runway & Brunch’ at the Outside Lounge, located at Movietowne, Rupert Craig Highway today February 19.
Just two years ago, Hadiyah launched her first business venture ‘Pragz22’, which is based on providing quality and chic female clothing. However, Hadiyah is set to launch a men’s clothing line.
Her event packed anniversary celebration will have male and female models strutting the runway dressed in fashionable outfits. There are also three other boutique’s involved in the event: Frances & Co., La Rose Boutique, and Beyond the Alley Boutique.
The event is set to combine Hadiyah’s modeling experience and love for fashion, while incorporating her clothes and food businesses. The theme of her event is “high fashion” and following the fashion show there will be a brunch and after party.
The tickets for the event cost $10,000 and it will cover the fashion show, brunch and the after party.
Hadiyah’s second business which she launched in November 2022 will be catering for the event. During the interview, Hadiyah explained that ‘Pragz Cater Too’ is a charcuterie catering service business offering charcuterie boards and boxes.
“We have both charcuterie boards and boxes that can be customized for our customers. On our menu we offer Vegetarian and Meat options. Each order can include; fruit, nuts, crackers, chocolates, cheese, jams, honey, dips, cooked meat,” the young businesswoman said.
She shared that the first event her business catered for was the birthday party of a well-known businessman.
The food business is open Monday to Saturday. All orders must be placed at least 48 hours in advance.
“I was inspired by the art of food. I believe food should always look appealing and I found that charcuterie allowed for food to be displayed in various creative ways. I often would ensure my food is plated in the right crockery, that it’s positioned properly before capturing the perfect picture. So when I discovered charcuterie, I was led down the path of creating a business venture using that,” she shared.
The young businesswoman advises aspiring business owners to have a great support system, remain focused and be sure on what they want to pursue.
