Kaieteur News – Kaieteur Attack Racing Cycle Club (KARCC) will host its first race event today to kick-start the 2023 cycling calendar, under the tagline ‘PACELINE’ at the Inner Circuit of the National Park, Thomas lands, Georgetown.
The event is scheduled to start at 8:00 am; registration fee is 1,000 dollars. This year’s meet consists of the Novice Race, Females – juveniles, veterans Over-50, Men’s senior, juniors and veteran’s under-50 races.
In the Novice’s race category, cyclists will be allowed to race and ride for one lap with whatever bicycle they have, while the Females (juveniles) and veterans Over-50 races will see riders battle over six laps.
In the Men’s category, seniors, juniors and veteran’s Under-50 races, riders compete for 35 laps.
Category spacing for top performers will see the seniors being rewarded from first to six while the juniors, juveniles, veterans U50, veteran’s Over50 and females will have the top three finishers receiving awards.
The presentation for the top performers of this event will be done on Monday, February 13, at the Beacons Café, located at the corners of Quamina and Carmichael Street, Lacytown, Georgetown. Cyclists are asked to be there for 10:00 am.
The event is sponsored by Beacon Café; Beacon Cafe is also proud to be a part of this cycling development meet organized by the Kaieteur Attack Racing Cycle Club.
