The Certificate was handed over by Ms. Candelle Bostwick, CEO of Global Compliance Service Guyana Inc. to Ms. Leah Milo, the Quality Health Safety Security, and Environment (QHSSE) Coordinator, on January 27, 2023, at the GCS Office in Georgetown, Guyana.
ISO 45001 is an international standard that specifies the requirements for implementing an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system. It gives organizations a framework for managing risks and opportunities to help prevent worker illnesses and injuries. Following the handing over ceremony, Ms. Milo n0ted that “GYSBI is committed to promoting employee well-being and providing a safe, healthy, and secure working environment, for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health,” it said in its announcement. “The health and safety aspect of our management system focuses on reducing and eliminating identified hazards effectively and we empower our staff to intervene and prevent unsafe acts and conditions and encourage maximum participation in continually improving this management system.”
GYSBI provides services for the oil and gas industry in Guyana. It is currently the country’s premier shore base facility supplying a range of integrated services.
