Kaieteur News – The H2O Boy’s hosted their second football tournament on 29th January in the mining town of Linden. H2O Boys’ a charitable arm of La’Fe, came back to host their second football tournament here in Guyana. The La’Fe Football tournament is a one-day event, which aims to harness young talent among youngsters across the region ten districts.
According to the Event Organiser H2OBoys, the La’Fe football tournament was yet again another success. The tournament were held at the Zar’s Ball Field in Linden on Sunday, where the first match got on the way just about 10:00am, matches ran straight into the evening with Linden Mix team coming out on top of UDFA football team in the final.
The well-coached Linden Mix team came out victorious in the ‘penalty-kick’ decider final against the UDFA side. On Sunday the Zar’s Ball Field wase filled with great jubilation and exciting football. Also in attendance was President of the United Doctors Front Association (UDFA), Wainewrite Bethune.
However, fans were treated with an exciting display of young talent, as Linden Mix football team triumph over the UDFA side to claim bragging rights of the 2023 La’Fe Football tournament.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Organising Committee – Bernard Couchman expressed special thanks to the Mayor and Town Council of the City of Linden, Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and the UDFA Crew for their involvement in making the event a success. Mr Couchman also wishes to thank, all the youngsters for taking part in this year’s tournament in memory of his sister Raquel.
