Dear Editor,
This is just a suggestion. The world we live in today is full of greed and violence and Guyana is no exception just as the Bible says “The love of money is the root of all evil”. For the sake of posterity, I would like to suggest Kaieteur News starts a ‘daily quote corner’ to remind us that God is still in control of the nations. Maybe, just maybe, it will help this nation to heal from the degradation into which it has fallen. There are lots of beautiful quotations from several sources and from the Bible (in particular) that would be suited at this time for this nation and be as balm for the soul.
Beginning with, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge God and he will direct your path” (Proverbs 3:5-6). Give thanks unto the LORD for he is good, for HIS mercy endures forever.(Psalms 118:1,29). Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; for he will abundantly pardon (Isaiah 55:6-7 KJV).
There are so many quotations in the Bible (and elsewhere) you could not run out even if you print different one every day.
Sincerely-in Jesus,
Gloria Holder
