During an interview with The Waterfalls, Razia shared that one of her best sellers is the chocolate covered strawberries.
The business owner stated too that her business also does catering and has catered for birthday parties, wedding anniversaries, baby showers and other gatherings.
Alicia Tasty Treatz is located at Good Hope, East Coast Demerara, and is opened Sunday to Sunday, from 09:00 to 16:00 hours.
“I started my business on January 21, 2021,” Razia said. When asked what inspired her to start such a business venture, she added, “It was due to COVID. I didn’t have an income so I decided to start a small business, either making handmade soap or to make custom treats, and with the help of my fiancé I decided on custom treats.”
Almost one-year after starting her business ‘Alicia Tasty Treatz Gy,’ Razia disclosed that she is looking forward to expanding her business by getting a storefront in a mall to make it more convenient for her customers.
Razia shared that she has always dreamt of becoming her own boss. “I left school at an early age and I started working at City Mall. After a few years I ended up working at Giftland Mall, and from there I got the opportunity to start buying and selling items like watches, wallets, handbags and other items on Facebook marketplace. This was going well especially since I needed the extra cash.”
However, she noted that she later left her job and focused on her online business.
“That business was good but after a few years then came the COVID-19 pandemic and it became more difficult.”
Razia shared that like others, the pandemic affected her business but she did not give up.
“I said to myself I can’t give up, so I did some research and started Alicia Tasty Treatz Gy. When I started this business, I did it because I have a passion for my products. With my dedication I was able to grow and develop my art skills, which propelled me into being more detailed in my design and presentation.”
