Dear Editor,
Lately, there have been several unsigned letters written by a purported organisation, calling themselves the “WPA.” This is confusing to many young Guyanese. Are they afraid to own the arguments or writings of their letters? Do they not realize that they insult the reader’s conception by not taking ownership of their writings?
I vaguely remember that the WPA was once a vibrant political organization, led by a patriotic Guyanese – Dr. Walter Rodney, who was allegedly murdered at the hands of the then ruling government.
Could it be that WPA members do not sign their letters because they are embarrassed, that some citizens believe that they are now embracing some of the people or the party who were allegedly responsible for Dr. Rodney’s demise?
Regards,
Jhagroo Persaud
