Dear Editor,
I am not surprised like most Guyanese of the recent immature tantrum by a struggling lawyer, Roysdale Forde, in relation to his public personal comments on the recent signing of the contract for the Wales Natural Gas Plant. Forde was overlooked by the PNC as a young leader because he is a novice in politics and struggling as a lawyer who has failed the PNC at the highest level, even as the PNC attempted to rig the 2020 elections. So now, there is a renewed attempt by Forde to seek attention by slandering the company that was successful in an international bid for the construction of the Wales Natural Gas Plant.
Editor, Forde is basing his accusation that the current government is not transparent because according to him and only him, the contract was awarded to a Venezuelan company. Editor, Forde is on record saying the company is a Venezuelan Company, which I am not aware of; hence, I did my own research. As such, I am pleased to inform the general public that the company, LINDSAYCA, is an international organization employing over 1,000 employees with over 30 years of experience executing EPMC projects for the energy industry. Further, the company is headquartered in Houston Texas, USA and not Venezuela as Mr. Forde is alluding. Please see the actual link for reference: https://lindsayca.com/.
I, therefore, submit that Mr. Roysdale Forde is once again continuing his charade to pull wool over the eyes of all Guyanese, but it is not working with this caliber of Guyanese generation. The current government is the most patriotic ever and will not even consider a Venezuelan company to invest and build the historic natural gas plant for Guyana and for Forde to make such an assertion reveals his level of judgment, lack of character and professionalism which continues to be his downfall as a lawyer, leader and as a politician. Further, the Wales Natural Gas Plant is a mammoth transformational project for Guyana and the entire South America for our country will be “the manufacturing destination” of this hemisphere providing stable and cheap energy for all households and commercial activities. Hence, Roysdale Forde and the entire Opposition cabal are running scared to have a project of this magnitude become a reality. However, their lackluster approach cannot deter this project and it will become a reality for the benefit of all Guyanese and generations thereafter.
I close by saying that while Mr. Roysdale Forde is a member of the Opposition PNC, it does not indicate he or any other members have free range to oppose everything the current administration is doing. Rather, be constructive and factual in their objectives and criticism. This lack in integrity is the recipe for their failure as an effective opposition. If we are to hold the current government accountable, we need an effective opposition and the current crop of Opposition leaders have proven to be failures. We deserve better as Guyanese to be fooled by the current Opposition just to gain attention and false political mileage.
Sincerely,
Mr. C. De Barros
