Dear Editor,
They got down on their knees to pave the roads we walk on.
Their reward is to be buried six feet under.
What comes to a man’s mind to harm them?
What could possibly make a man raise a weapon at someone so tender?
When I think of the elderly, I think of respect and intelligence. Why? Experience.
To be experienced in this world is a gift.
Who are we to take the life of someone who is not yet finished living? When we are called, we go, when our time is finally up, we leave.
Who are you to determine, that their time is up? Who are you to determine they die such cruel deaths?
How could you possibly take the life of another, with no remorse?
That could be your mother, your brother, your sister, your father, your son and your daughter. That person with weary eyes staring back, terrified. That person, staring at who could be their own.
What kind of human being values things of the world, than something that can never be retained, a life.
As for the women, the women that go to bed with tears in their eyes. The men who are supposed to sacrifice for these women, sacrifice their good morals and mistreat them.
Domestic violence is not something and never has been something that should be condoned.
A woman, she is a maker that can carry the future in her womb, and someone’s daughter.
A woman has once carried you, men. The same men that raise hands and raise voice.
Lives have been lost because of your anger.
Men also face domestic violence. This isn’t uncommon. Despite your age, race and gender you have a right.
If something does more harm than good it is not contributing to your life, it is not for you. I am speaking to all.
My condolences to families who suffer a loss, a loved one gone because of the actions of someone who listened to their head instead of their heart.
Seek the help you need. Seek counseling if need be. You are in great danger if you allow your mind to consume you.
Seek the help you need. Seek advice if need be. You are in great danger if you allow your mind to control you.
With the warmest regard,
Ms. Saaya Prasad
