Elderly man, teen in court for assaulting, threatening each other

Kaieteur News – A 60-year-old man, Lennox Barrington, of Diamond Housing Scheme and 19-year –old, Simmon Austin, a Farmer of Eccles Housing Scheme, were both charged last Friday with assault and threatening behaviour.
The men were slapped with two individual charges of assault causing actual bodily harm and threatening behavior committed on each other.
Both men appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrates’ Court before Senior Magistrate, Sunil Scarce, when the charges were read to them.
Both men reportedly pleaded not guilty to the offences and were placed on self-bail. The matter was adjourned to February 3, 2023 for statements.
